Homemade Oat Milk

Too many times we purchase things and waste our hard earned money out of “convenience”. Too often end up wasting money for a lower quality product that we could make better at home for a percentage of the cost in comparison. This is one of those too often moments, but lucky for you, you’re reading this and things are about to change.

In 5 simple ingredients and a little cheese cloth, you will have some of your own delicious homemade oat milk. What I love about recipes like these is you can adjust them to your preferred taste. Each variety of sweetener brings a different flavour to your milk. So don’t be shy and throw your own spin on this quick and delicious drink.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Cold water (filtered)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup (Honey or Agave Nectar)
  • 1 Cup Old fashioned Rolled Oats

Homemade Oat Milk Instructions

  • Place the water into your blender
  • Add salt and Rolled Oats
  • Blend for 20 – 60 seconds until the mixture looks consistent.
  • Strain the mixture through some cheese cloth. Twisting the cheese cloth will help removing the liquid.
  • Blend the Liquid for another 20 seconds and strain in the cheese cloth for a second time.
  • Add sweetener
  • Add Vanilla or Coconut extract – This is optional and adjustable to your preferences.

Blend for about 20-60 seconds or until the mixture looks consistent. After blending you will want to strain the mixture through some cheese cloth. Twisting the cheesecloth will allow you to get most of the oat milk out. Blend the oat milk for another 20 seconds and strain it for a second time in the cheesecloth. Enjoy your homemade oat milk for pennies a glass.
