Reducing Toxins is Easy

Reducing toxins is easy once you know what to look for. When it comes to our health and well being, often times we overlook the elephant in the room. The chemicals we expose our bodies to on a regular basis can have detrimental effects to our health. Even when deemed “safe” and widely available many products do you more harm than good. Did you know fewer than 10% of air freshener ingredients are typically disclosed to the public.
Perfumes and colognes used across the globe contain many poisonous chemicals. benzyl alcohol, acetone, linalool, ethanol, ethyl acetate, benzaldehyde, camphor, formaldehyde, methylene chloride and limonene. Synthetic musks and phthalates are potentially hazardous compounds which are also used as perfume ingredients. One can easily substitute these poisons for a natural essential oil blend that you can personalize. Many of these oils have beneficial properties that can actually help your body and mind. You can follow this link to purchase your own essential oils and start to create your own scent.
Flouride
Flouride is another chemical that we freely use because it’s deemed “safe enough”. Used in toothpastes and water. Yet we know excess amounts of fluoride ions in drinking water can cause a list of issues. Dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, arthritis, bone damage, osteoporosis, muscular damage, fatigue, joint-related problems, and chronicle issues. In extreme amounts, it damages the heart, arteries, kidney, liver, endocrine glands and neuron system. Clove oil has been was introduced in Europe during the 4th century BC. Clove oil has been shown to be effective against bad oral bacteria. Even bacteria that can move from mouth to arteries that cause strokes and heart attacks.
Phthalates
Phthalates are industrial chemicals used in softening PVC and is used as solvent in cosmetics and other consumer products. These chemicals have been linked to damage of the liver, lungs, kidneys and even the reproductive system. Yet these chemicals are widely used across the globe and ignored by most general doctors in terms of solving peoples health issues. Children are at a higher level of exposure and are more vulnerable to phthalates. Reducing toxins is easy. A simple solution to this exposure is to reduce or eliminate food products packaged in plastics by purchasing cartons or glassware over plastic jugs etc.
Benzene is another ridiculous chemical “deemed safe enough” to be added into sunscreens to be applied directly to the skin. Yet Benzene works by causing adverse effects like bone marrow to not produce sufficient red blood cells which will lead to anemia. In layman’s terms, benzene causes cells to not work correctly, causing a multitude of illnesses and ailments.
Metals Cause Illness
Aluminum is another chemical we apply onto ourselves knowing the possible detrimental effects it could have on our health. Deemed safe enough aluminum is used on many healthcare products like antiperspirants, antacids, deodorants, sunscreens and make up. Some studies show that people exposed to high levels of aluminum may develop Alzheimer’s disease. There is also the concern that as an oxidant , the sunscreen may cause oxidative damage on the skin which would increase the risk of cancers. Aluminium’s free metal cation, Alaq(3+), is highly biologically reactive and biologically available aluminium is non-essential and essentially toxic.
Heavy metals in foods is also something we should all be aware of. Mercury is something present in all seafood. Farmed seafood is unfortunately not a better option either. Reducing consumption of seafood with high levels like tuna , marlin, swordfish and mackerel is recommended. Choosing haddock, trout or tilapia which have lower mercury levels will reduce your exposure. Always choose wild caught fish for a higher nutrient profile. Brown rice is another misleading food deemed as healthy. Containing 80% more arsenic than white rice, brown rice is not a healthier choice. Much like whole wheat, who’s pesticide residues damage any health benefits available. Conventional Whole grain flours have double the pesticide residue than white flours. Common wheat has double the pesticide residue as Spelt wheat flour, showing that what we grow our food with matters. Growing your own food is also a great way to keep reducing toxins easy.
