Pectin Free Grape Jam
Growing your own grapes is easy, and preserving your own Pectin Free Grape Jam is even easier. Regardless of where you live delicious grapes like Valiant’s allow you to grow your own delicious concord style grapes. What I love most about perennial fruits, is they provide your family an abundance of free food that expands year over year.

Instructions:
Place a few spoons into the freezer. These will come in handy for testing the consistency of your jam. Some recipes will have you peel your grapes and remove the seeds. If you’ve grown your own grapes you’ll realize that is a tedious task, so I encourage you to save yourself the time and blend your grapes into a smooth consisitancy.
In a sauce pot, on low heat warm the grapes and add your brown sugar at a 2:1 ratio. You can reduce the sugar content to your preference or can even make this jam with zero sugar.
Cook your jam over a low to medium heat into a light boil while continuously stirring. This allows you to thicken your jam to your favorite consistency. Use your freezer spoons to test your jam, this allows a quick cool which provides you a good estimate on the texture of your jam.
Once desired thickness is reached, remove from heat and add a teaspoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice and stir into your jam.
In sterilized jars, fill with your jam leaving some head room in your jars and water bath for 20 minutes. After removing your jars from the water bath wait for the pop to ensure the jars have sealed properly. Time to Enjoy your Pectin free grape jam!
